Property Owners should be aware that inspections and occupancy permits are required any time a building undergoes a change in the Use Group or Hazard Index (as defined by The Building Code). Compliance with the Building Code (and other regulations) lies with the Property Owner.

Owners should track existing and proposed Use Groups and Hazard Indices. Owners are required to have documentation from one use to another, from one product/service to another, or from one tenant to another.
